084 Faith AND Fear

This past week was one for the books!  Many of you are practicing social distancing or even being self-quarantine, and there are some mixed feelings about it.  While I hope that you are enjoying some extra time at home with your family and friends and that you are getting some time to practice self care, I do know that there is a lot of fear floating around due to the uncertainty of the times.  And anytime we hear the word fear, we typically hear the word faith shortly after.  Lately there has been a lot of finger pointing at people who are practicing caution or even expressing fear as being people with little or no faith.  But in today’s episode I want to really help you guys understand how a person can feel fear and also have faith and expel this belief that you can only have one or the other.  And so I hope to inspire you to  build your faith.

083 Don't Panic

So since we last spoke soooo much has happened and changed and these major changes have many of you feeling a frenzy of emotions.  Some of you are worried, afraid, uncertain, and even some of you are unbothered, lol.  I get it.  Many of us are experiencing something that we’ve never experienced or even thought of before.  Do I have enough food and toilet paper, how long will this last, are my grandparents safe, schools out how will I manage, is it ok to go out of my house?  All of these questions combined with the excessive output and input of information and misinformation, many of you are in panic mode.  But I am here today to help you feel a sense of calm in the middle of chaos.  I’m going to give you my do’s and don’ts to help you navigate this season of life and I hope to inspire you to don’t panic!

081 Quit It

So last week we talked about failure and how it’s really not as bad as it seems. I recently heard someone say that they’ve failed more than they’d succeeded and it’s in those failure that they learned the most. So now that we know that failure isn’t the enemy I want to talk about another thing that gets a bad wrap as well and that is quitting. There is a perception that being a quitter is a bad thing. But in today’s episode we are going to talk about a few thoughts and behaviors that I absolutely encourage you to quit and leave behind. Yes, I’m encouraging you to be a quitter today. As we grow we are going to learn and realize that not everything that we are doing is good for us or serving us well and so I hope to inspire you to Quit It.

081 Fail Forward

Today, I want to talk to you about an integral component of success.  No, not consistency.  No, not discipline.  No, not even hard work.  I’m talking about the oh so important…failure.  Like it or not, failure is something you will likely experience on your journey toward success.  But I feel like failure gets a bad warp.  It has become something that people fear and ultimately can stop them in their tracks on the road toward success.  So, in today’s episode I want to tell you some much needed information about failure that will help you go from fearing failure to becoming friends with it and so I hope to inspire you to fail forward.

080 Be The Standard

This year for black history month my family and I did things a little differently.  Instead of focusing on the achievements of African Americans in society, we focused on teaching our kids their family history.  For the last few years, my husband has been working fervently on our family tree and we’ve been able to teach our kids some very important information about whom they come from.  Learning all this history got me to thinking….you know, one day, I will be someone’s ancestor.  How are my actions now going to impact the generations to come.  Will they thank me for what I’ve done or will my actions become a barrier for them to overcome?  In today’s episode, I want you to think about the same thing.  What will your legacy be?  Are you living a life that will benefit the future?  I hope to help you live the best possible life for yourself and your future and I hope to inspire you to be the standard.

078 The Morning Routine for Champions

Your alarm clock goes off and it’s time to start another day, another week, another opportunity to be great.  But let me ask, are you making the best of your morning?  After waking up do you take the opportunity to set yourself up for the best possible day or are you rushing around, feeling cranky to see another day?  Well, if you are the latter, this episode is just for you!  By doing a few simple yet impactful tasks in the morning you can transform your life and take on your day like a champion.  In this episode I’ll share with you a few of the things that I believe should be apart of everyone’s morning routine and I hope to inspire you to start strong!

077 FOMO: Fear of Missing Out

FOMO, or the fear of missing out, may sound like just another silly acronym, but, in actuality, it is wrecking havoc on many people’s lives.  People are choosing what to do, where to go, what to try, and what to be apart of, not because they actually want to do these things, but because of the fear that if they don’t do these things, they’ll miss out on something important.  When you make decisions based on fear, nothing good comes from it, so in today’s episode I want to discuss what causes FOMO, and most importantly, how to stop operating from a place of fear and start operating from your own desires. And so I hope to inspire you to miss out.

Mamba Mentality

Mamba Mentality

So, I’m recording this episode right after learning about the passing of the greatest, Kobe Bryant.  I am physically shaken and devastated by the passing of Kobe and his daughter.  If you’ve listened to this podcast then you know that Kobe is my all time favorite athlete, not just basketball player, but athlete.  He is my favorite, not just because of his greatness and competitiveness on the court, but because of his intelligence and thoughtfulness off of the court.  His mamba mentality is one that has inspired me and today I hope to inspire you by sharing a few of the greatest lessons I learned from the life of Kobe Bryant.
